Arctic Tern

By jasonrwl
Just back from 3 days on Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland finishing with a trip to the Farne Islands. Fabulous weather.

My son and 2 friends attempted to do the Hadrian's Wall Path from West coast to East coast (84 miles) in 3 days - I was the support car Grin. One had to drop out after 2 days and 56 miles due to blisters and sunburn but my son and his cousin finished at Wallsend at 11.55pm last night having set off at 5.00 am on the final day. So they just made it in the 3 days they challenged themselves with! Well done.

This one is from Inner Farne yesterday and is almost straight from the camera - just a crop and a very slight sharpen.

Will try to catch up with all your images this week. Looking forward to seeing what you have been up to over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Thanks for looking
Jason

Really like this shot, this is a typical pose of terns but what really makes it work fir me is the whole composition.Excellent. Hoping to get to Farne this week, weather permitting./

The inspiration for Mercedes' 300 SL gull-wing Coupe classic from the 50's Jason.

Well done indeed to number one son for the Hadrian effort. Respect!

A beautiful tern Jason - the white good against the sky and the black beak, red beak and feet - a colour feast.
