Bright & Breezy

By Jasper87
Home, home again
I like to be there when I can
When I come in cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
............... Pink Floyd

Scarborough again, looking across the South Bay toward the Grand Hotel on the left, and the Castle right-middle. v2 is the harbour nestling below and captured from the castle headland.

Hand held!! Iso500, f29, 1/320sec, @22mm. Don't ask me why!Tongue, I could easily have reduced the aperture to f8 or f11 and consequently the ISO. A salutary lesson to check your settings Blush

Words courtesy of Pink Floyd from my favourite album 'Dark Side of the Moon'.

I have done the same, Dave......taken a shot without checking settings again and later found I could have done things differently.
But the waves in V 1 lead the eye nicely across to the Grand: but my favourite is the backlit shot at V 2 where there's a silvery sheen on the water.

Is Scarborough your childhood home or do you live there now? Ron is (trying to) play "wish you were here" as I type! I saw them at Earls Court when Dark Side of the Moon was released - a fantastic concert! We saw Roger Waters do "The Wall" at O2 about a year ago, that was pretty good also! I'm the Pink Floyd fan and now Ron has joined me!!
We're going to Whitby at the end of April for the Goth weekend, so will pass fairly near to Scarborough, I love that part of Yorkshire.

Perfectly timed capture on the wave in v1 Dave, and I really like how the light sparkles on the ocean in v2.

Ah yes, check the settings, check the settings - I've also amazed myself after the fact that I got a photo considering the settings I had for the previous shot. Although, I've learned that photographers are now pushing the ISO to get grainier shots - I think I like that trend.
