Evening sky, incoming thunder

By JasperD
How quick it can change. 30 minutes before this picture, I took the bus from the office under a bright blue sky. Looking through the windows, I saw the clouds coming in and generate some beautiful light, so stepped off at the next stop. Walking back to a good spot took me about 15 minutes, but by then almost the whole sky was covered!
WeŽre now under heavy thunder.

That's quite interesting but, if I may say, you have only given a hint at the most interesting part of the composition - where the light is breaking through the cloud. Might a shot in portrait rather than landscape have picked up a little more? It may be that the sun would have been too bright, of course.

Superb lighting and lovely colour. A beautiful well composed image.

Yes you may and you are right! On all counts. Smile
I was a bit disappointed having missed it (five big sunrays putting just a tiny little stripe of light on the horizon), but it was all so quick I couldnŽt change position either. To capture what was left of that I needed indeed portrait, but then there was a ship in the way of the reflections, IŽll show tomorrow. Not a good shot, but an explanation... Wink
