Hengistbury Head

By JayneL
A photo I took years ago but have always liked, as I love the head. I used to live about 2 minutes away, now more like 2 miles, but we love to go up there for a stroll with our cameras. Looking at it again, I wonder if I should crop out some of that foreground, what do you think?

I personally wouldn't crop the foreground, I think it adds to the depth and the sweeping sensation of the image. It has great atmosphere, really very ethereal.

I wouldn't: I think it looks just fine as it is, Jayne.

Thanks all, think I'll leave it as it is then, maybe I've just been listening to too many judges.

I agree with the others Jayne, keep the foreground. It shows a more wild view of the Head, which can look a bit "seasidey".

I would however suggest that you maybe darken the foreground as it a bit light and lets the picture "Leak out of the bottom", in fact maybe a darker vignette all round the image would hold it in and make for a stronger image?

Thanks Brian, I'll try the vignette... not that I know how as yet but it's something I had been meaning to learn, and I can see what you mean.
