Snowy Shepherd

By jeanie
Well, back from my travels "up North", and although I spent the last week at Glencoe sat in a raincloud, I went every day to attempt to get some shots of Buachaille Etive Mhor. It was a real test trying to take photos without rainspots but yesterday morning I was rewarded with a fresh coating of snow but no sunshine. So I ended up with a white shepherd shot and beat the rain that dropped about 10 mins later and never stopped for the rest of our journey home.

A special thanks to Davie (daviewat) for the brew on the way back yesterday.... it was great to see you and yours once again.

techie bits;

Like it Jeanie, like it! I once did a rock climb on the Buckle at new year, it was one of the best days ever.

Look forward to seeing the rest.

Good to have you back Jeanie! And what a picture to come back with! I've seen many shots of this scene but this one has to rank right up near the top of the heap, perhaps the very "gentle" colours? Your persistence has paid off....

Cheers Davie - just what we wanted to hear LOL! Beautiful sunshine here too and Trev moaning so I just said "it will still be raining up there"... and you say its sunny : (
hee hee

Al - I will have a go at lightening the foreground - it looks darker on my desktop than it did on my laptop. Thanks

I sound like a broken record sometimes re: the Big Buckle, but I tend to skip over these images unless there is something special about. This has a fantastic atmosphere and captures the character of that mountain far better than those taken in more 'perfect' light.

A cracker.

Jeanie, you have produced a very nice shot here full of light and delicate detail, I don't think you have to make excuses.

`This is the essence of the Rannoch Moor...many go, but few see it.

Very well done indeed,

Wow thanks everybody - what lovely things you have said...

I have just come back from work, and in all honesty - I would rather be back up there, stood in the rain, waiting for the right moment, getting soaked, than sitting in the office working!

No doubt I will bore you with more images soon.

Thank you very much.

Ian - had the wellies on for two weeks - and the only day I never put them on and wore walking boots was the day I slipped on my bum at some rather slippy rocks by a waterfall (no harm done though)!
