Thanks Christine, and thanks Tanya. It is indeed infrared. There was detail in the sky too, but burning it out was a conscious decision (although initially an accidental one), just seemed to help pull the eye into the image better. I'll put a little back in for print though.

Quote:for me, covering up the bush on the right of the frame adds an instant "OMG" as opposed to (just Smile) a "Wow" response.

Quote:if it weren't for that 1/3 of a dark tree/bush on the left. Try this with the crop and you have created sheer beauty.SmileWink

Thanks Tanya/Annette, I did try it with the right hand bush cropped off, and then back on, and then off again. Thats why I was never really happy with the shot originally, I finally settled with it on there. Ive got the Sun too close to the left edge really, and it seemed to accentuate that when I cropped in tighter, but I take your point, maybe cropped would be better after all

Thanks for all the votes and comments, much appreciated as ever.

Quote:A touch of IR effect here, methinks...

This seems to lack contrast a bit: I'd be tempted to dodge the lighthouse and possibly one or two otehr areas to brighten them, and give the whole shot a lift. The composition is lovely, and it feels as if it needs a bit of a tweak to make a really great shot - maybe my suggestion, maybe something else.

It is IR as you thought, and point taken about the contrast, will have a play with that

    thanks
