The lifebuoy makes the shot work.

Great light, but the life ring makes this for me. Since it's the undisputed focal point of this image, maybe it could use a bit more light because the far side is quite dark - spot of fill flash or a reflector?!

Personally speaking a simpler border would have been a better far as the image itself is concerned, can't fault it. Well done.

Nice atmosphere Trevor and the red of the lifebuoy has good contrasting those grassy sand compositions.
