Stormy Weather.

Rework of a previous upload. I think my PS skills have improved since then. I think it has more impact than the last one. Please let me know what you think.

As usual, all comments welcome. Thanks for looking.

Very interesting work...and even now the concern can be seen in the young man.

Good choice of b&w on this, the use of which adds to the drama of the scene imho,

Thanks for your comment everyone. Thanks to Pete for the HC...I'm honoured.

I did replace the sky in PS. The new sky was similar to the one used in Horse. Converted to B&W in channel mixer (mostly red channel).

I then used a technique from Martin Evening's book where you make a copy of a channel (the one with the most contrast. In B&W there all the same). Then, with the channel copy selected, go to image, apply. Use overlay or multiply blend mode. This hightens the contrast even more. Then use the paint brush in overlay mode to paint in black & white. Overlay seemingly only darkens the dark pixels when using black & vice-versa for white. Use the brush in normal mode to complete the rest of the mask. Chose add to selection & then switch back to the top layer, (which should be the sky) & click add layer mask. Voila.

I nearly wish you hadn't told us how you managed it Wink but this is indeed infinitely better than the other, which wasn't too bad anyway
