Fly Agaric

By jelsmack
Took this on Friday at Center parcs in Cumbria. When we first saw it, it looked so perfect we thought it was artificial, as did a few others judging by the looks of disbelief as I climbed up on the wall and lay on my stomach for a better shot - exit my children, who pretended not to know me! My hubby also doubted me and suggested we come back after dark to see a light shining out of it. As further uploads will show, it WAS real!!
Might not win me any prizes for best photo, but was certainly the best specimen I have ever seen in my life, it was stunning.

Spectacular specimen very well captured. Was particularly looking for one of these but couldn't find any in my neck of the woods. Will keep looking. Great shot,

Nick.

Gorgeous photo!

Great DOF.

I tried to get a shot of this species of fungi but failed to capture the colour, the light was poor and I had to resort to a flash, I didn't have my tripod.

Well Done Sandra!
