Another shot from Rosshire. I think its a Scabious, but would be happy to be corrected! Liked it because it reminded me of the liquorise allsort - you know the jelly one with the hundreds and thousands stuck to it.

I think this one might be a Jasione (Sheeps Bit). It says in my book that it's mainly coastal but it grows locally and we're as near the 'Centre of Britain' as it possibel to get.

Thanks Merl. Looked up Jasione, seems the two are often confused, but thought it was a bit blue. I only saw a couple partly opened and they looked more like the Succisa pratensis - Devil's-bit scabious. But I'm no expert and I'm sure they all come in a variety of shades to help confuse. Must see if I have an opened shot, and better still one with leaves. Thanks for your help, Sandra
