Sunset on Talacre Beach (HDR)

By jeni
This was taken last night on Talacre Beach in North Wales. Its a HDR image from one shot, with the exposure adjusted in Lightroom to make six differently exposed images to combine for the final image. i used Photomatix for the conversion.

I struggled to reduce the filesize, having to export from Lightroom at only 40 Quality. i hope its not impacted too much on the clarity of the photograph.

Good use of the low viewpoint and the wide angle. Might gain something from a bit of a top crop, maybe?

thx for the comments Smile

re the crop, ive experimented. a crop the just below (sorry, i meant above) the heads of the silhouetted photographers enhances the ripples in the sand, however my main capture was the sunset and the light so im not 100% sure on it. i could crop to just about where the dark clouds on the left hand side start disappearing...

thx for the advice Smile

Oh yes, I didn't mean take out the figures, I was just thinking of taking a little off the top to bring the top of the bright rift in the clouds up towards the top of frame, raising the horizon a little.

Super sunset and especially with the people in to add interest. The light brings out the sand ripples well

Hi Jenni,

Glad you took my advice to have a look at epz - I've followed your advice also Smile

Cracking take on what was there. I really like how you have not been put off by all the togs there that night, but instead used them to your advantage.
