Devastating results of a Bushfire by jennialexander

Devastating results of a Bushfire

Quote: I hope you weren't near enough to be involved, Jenni.
Although it's a tragedy for some, it's also nature's miracle that new life springs from the ravages of these fires.

Good, descriptive picture.

Thank you. Fortunately we were in Sydney so not near the fires. They were in an area I used to live in many years ago. No one was fatally injured this time but many lost their homes and it is devasting to see the vast area that this fire ravaged. More are raging in WA at the moment. It is amazing to drive around just a month after the fire and see green grass covering the ground from just the smallest amount of rain. Next year there will be a whole lot of new regeneration. Sadly though over the years a lot of the majestic gums that have suffered at the 'hands' of a bushfire are now just dead white ghosts in amongst the bush.

Poppies at the Tower by rontear

Poppies at the Tower

This has to be the best image of this amazing tribute Ron.the lighting conditions you have chosen enhance it into the thought provoking image that it is. I am just so disappointed that the charity will only get 10% of the proceeds. They deserve so much more. Jenni

The sky that can paint pictures

A beautiful image Andy. My sentiments exactly. I also do as you intend. Can't bear seeing a photo I like & then find I have to comment because voting is disabled. Feel like I am being 'subtley' forced to comment when all I really want to do is show by voting that I like the image.

Super image. Strangely I do not think mono is as much the kiss of death as it used to be. There are a lot more monochrome images on the site I think. Thank goodness.
