Garden Safari - Orb-web Spider

By JeremyCC
Araneus diadematus an Orb-web spider is the most common garden spider in Western Europe and can be identified by the distinctive white cross on the abdomen. It generally sits either at the center of its large circular web or in a retreat at the end of a signal line.
After all the nice spider pics on the site I got inspired to have a go one evening. This is second in the series, there will be a third but I will post that at a later date.

Fine detail and an extreme species. You asked on mine the location, it's Gardenstown in Scotland one of the many villages along the Moray Firth.
