Well spotted of course! The cash machine adds another element to how I read this image, but I am not at all certain as to the way it should be interpreted. A busker, yes. A sad, homeless person, perhaps, but is it, what are the signs? This older person's facial features do show concentration and musical appreciation and place the accent on a rather excellent musical instrument. The costume is richly appropriate. Is he after hand-outs? I do not see the usual plate. Now, must we feel pity or would we rather see this person in a retirement home. I'd go and thank him, wouldn't you? All the best to you all,

I think my thoughts are in line with Paul [parob] here. Is he busking, or just doing something he enjoys? is he lonely? possibly, hence the reason he is seeking company rather than evidence of hand outs. Is receiving money for busking a hand out, I don't think so. Does he have any dress sense, definitely not, but, he is certainly dressed to attract attention and perhaps that is the reason he is there.
Ordinarily, I would have said, great place for a busker at the side of a cash machine, since the lowest denomination is a fiver.
What ever the reason he is there, you have captured him well Trev and you have certainly sparked off some debate as to this guys purpose.
