Hightide at Wells norfolk

By Jimbob
This was taken at wells–Next–The-sea Norfolk, just before the high tide Saturday September 9th .The tide was expected to be about 4cm higher than normal for the time of year flooding the roads and shops. Fortunately the tide stopped about 10 / 11 inches from overflowing the quayside.

Night photography is quite tricky to pull off - especially where multiple light-sources are involved. I think it's always better to concentrate on one particular idea - for example, the streetlights reflected in the water, rather than try and combine different ideas, as here.

By not concentrating on one simple concept, the picture becomes a bit of a jumble, with little information to help the viewer make sense of the scene.

I agree with Jools, and also have aproblem that's there's no real point of focus (or in focus). Your description sets a scene, but there's nothing in the picture that says "dangerously high tide".It's a very difficult area of photography, so hang on in there and experiment
