Bit bleak

By jimpy1
Just back dfrom 2 very wet weeks in the Lake District. The rotten weather at least gave me a chance to experiment a bit with atmospheric shots. Saw this view on Dewent Water just before it tipped it down. I know opinion says that the subject matter should be off centre but I think this works.
As always comments appreciated and very welcome. Thanks for looking.

Lovely simple but effective composition. Love the mood evoked.

The simple, uncluttered composition works very well and I really like the way the central hill is silhouetted and yet so detailed - the whole thing has so much atmosphere. I just wonder whether it might benefit from cloning out the white house to the right of the frame, which tends to keep drawing the eye away from the boat - just a thought and it's still a lovely image either way Smile

Very good light and evening tones and a little haziness up the lake add a subtle mystical charm.. and the boat just stands out.

A great image. The strong white light and shape of the sail completely transforms what would have been a cold gloomy image.

Tried it without the little white house Anna but to me it was necessary as it appears that the sail boat is trying to get home before the storm. Thanks for the comment on any case.
