Don't think so Phil, I believe it is an Emerald Damselfly, different insect completely.

Nope Banded Demoiselle I'm afraid, the only other large winged Damselfly in the UK is the Beautiful Demoiselle.

My apologies Phil I was misinformed by a supposed expert on such things, did wonder why I could not find one with white patches on its wings.

No worries Jim, The two Demoiselle species are the only damselflies with large wings, all other species have slender wings, often the only way to tell the difference between the two female demoiselles is the positioning of the pterostigma (the white patches)

Super lovely and sharp.

Normally I prefer softer light for this sort of thing but I think the shadow on the leaf adds to the image.
