Hector Latest

By JimV
Was reading in our local paper that they're closing down for the season this Thanskgiving weekend, and have announced that their first year has been a resounding success with a 15percent increase in paid visitors over 2009, the last year the ship was open to the public. From what they went on to say it seems the ship will stay in the water over the winter.
Thought I've have a bit of fun for my opener by flipping the image, V2 is the right way up. With V3 I've combined the Hector with the Abercrombie Pulp Mill, it's been my habit of late to show a shot of both after my visits to Pictou, this way I save an upload Smile

As this is our Thanksgiving holiday weekend we're going up to the city for it. The family are going on to Wolfville as there are races on there on Sunday, my son and daughter are running in the 10km., and the two grandchildren are in the 5km. I've opted to stay behind as I'm hoping to get some photograhic opportunities around the city, you'll soon see if I succeeded. Smile

Many thanks for all your kind comments and thoughts on Norman's death, even though we've known for so long that his days were numbered, it was still a hard blow to take.

Jim, I was looking at V 1 before reading your remarks, and wondering to myself what it was about the image I found strange: all was revealed when I did so.
What a clever idea.
I fine old ship and good to hear that as a visitor attraction it has been a success this year.......perhaps bodes well for next.
A fine set of images, full of interest and detail.
Ronnie.
