Tree Trunk

I spent around 50 minutes taking shots of the trunk & branches of this tree, unfortunately it did not have a label so I am not sure what it is.

However according to the map this was in the Cypress zone, so maybe it is a Cypress ?

Anyhow, this one is about the shapes of the trunk and a challenge to capture bright & dark in the same shot.

The software's Highlight / Shadow controls have certainly allowed me to retain detail in both areas, so it is somewhat "rescued" Wink

If this had been on Velvia transparency film there would have been no chance Sad

Taking a break from photography for a while, will be back for 21st Wink

Very well captured, it was worth the time it took. I love trees and wood and know just how this would feel, but the light contrast together with the rich colours make it look like rich fabric drapes. Well done.....B
