Holocaust Memorial

By jkcuddihy
Standing there, I watch lots of people slowly wandering through the Jewish Holocaust Memorial a few weeks ago in Berlin. This lady moved so slowly I wondered if she was connected in some way though time to some unfortunate victims of this state sponsored atrocity. Maybe..
Thanks for having a look.

Might have placed her a bit lower in the left bottom third, but a superb capture and wonderful contrasts. Rod

A very striking image. I think it important that people do take time to reflect at these places.

Nicely crafted image John. I like where you have placed her in the frame and I think it's very apt that it's raining, both from the symbolic perspective and from the shiny stone POV.

I wonder if you have any that are more zoomed out to give an idea of the scale of the place but still with her alone in the frame. This is good but perhaps a wider canvas would have even more impact. Of course I've never been there so I have no idea if it would have been possible...

Hope you are well,
Cheers, Goggz

Would love to see a mono version of this, it may give a more dramatic effect - Jonathan

We visited this place a few years ago. The museum below ground really brings your mood down. Your picture and words evoke some of the sadness - if not the horror.

On a happier note - have a great 2011.
