The Flying Kick

By jkennedy
I took this shot two days ago of a guy practicing his karate moves on Jimbaran beach here in Bali. It was a great setting and he produced an excellent opportunity for some sports/action shots.

Thanks for dropping by to take a look.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments on this shot. BTW Graham this was the 3rd attempt to get the shot so not too bad.

Good stuff! As a former karate teacher myself, I know how difficult it is to get this kind of shot as I was asked to pose like this for a magazine once. We took about 10 or 12 shots before they got one they liked, so really not easy! So to get this on the third attempt, I really am very, very impressed!! This is a cracking image and very well it a lot!

Thanks a lot John for your comments. I took 5 shots of this flying kick and the one here was my 3rd effort. My 2nd attempt was almost identical except that the guy was looking down at the ground rather than straight in front at me. The 1st attempt had his leg out of the frame so all in all not bad. I am well pleased with the result.
