HIgh Wheel Racer

By jlwilliams1979
I took this picture in Frederick, Maryland; USA. For the past several years, they have had an annual high wheel race where the bikes circle one of the city blocks for an hour straight. The racer with the most laps is the winner. This was my first time attending and really wanted to practice my panning technique. Photo converted to B&W in Silver Effects.

Wondrful shot. A penny-farthing is a delight to see in action. Just mounting one is a challenge in itself let alone racing on one of these fabulous old machines.
