SLAD

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
This is a view of Slad taken from Swift Hill (The bramble flower posted yesterday).

"Slad is a village in Gloucestershire, England, located in the Slad Valley, about 2 miles from the town of Stroud. Slad is famous for being the home of Laurie Lee, who based his book Cider with Rosie on his own life in the village.

The village lies in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, and is built principally on the B4070 road from Stroud to Birdlip, which is halfway up one side of Slad Valley. The Slad Brook runs along the bottom of the valley.
There is a small church in the village, and a small traditional pub, the Woolpack." (Wikipedia)

"Laurence Edward Alan "Laurie" Lee, MBE (June 26, 1914 May 13, 1997) was an English poet, novelist, and screenwriter, raised in the village of Slad, Gloucestershire. His most famous work was an autobiographical trilogy which consisted of Cider with Rosie (1959), As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning (1969) and A Moment of War (1991).
While the first volume famously recounts his childhood in the idyllic Slad Valley, the second deals with his leaving home for London and his first visit to Spain in 1934, and the third with his return in December 1937 to join the Republican International Brigades." (Wikipedia)

I'm loving your landscapes! The lovely rolling hills and the partitions of land that make for an interesting patchwork of shapes. Lovely colors also in this pleasant scene.
