Nha Trang was an important part of my journey in Vietnam as my grand-father was part of the team of scientists who helped establish and build the Institut Pasteur. It was a strange feeling to visit the old part of the building he worked for a number of years and to see the beach where my Mother and my Aunt played as they were little.

“Nha Trang is a coastal city and capital of Khánh Ḥa province, on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is well known for its pristine beaches and excellent scuba diving and is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of backpackers as well as more affluent travelers on the Southeast Asia circuit. It is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists. Nha Trang Bay is amongst the world's most beautiful bays…
…The famous French-Swiss bacteriologist Alexandre Émile John Yersin (who discovered the Yersinia pestis bacterium) identified himself with Nha Trang's life for 50 years (people called him Ông Năm- Mr Fifth in familiar way), established the Indochina Pasteur Institution (Nha Trang Pasteur Institution now) to research bubonic plague and then died on March 1, 1943 in Nha Trang. A street in the city is named after him, there is a shrine located next to his tomb, and his house has been converted into the Yersin Museum.” (Wikipedia)

Thank you for your comments on the flowers posted yesterday. I hope you will like the iconic conical hat wearing women engaged in a discussion while looking at the sea (f18 1/80th sec zoom at 40mm). V2 and V3 are the views either side of the women (taken from the beach).

Have a good evening and pleasant week-end,

Love this shot. In England it’s well known that the back view of two or three elderly ladies sitting in their deck chairs by the sea - works a treat. But in this case it’s those hat’s that add something special to this capture for me. Smashing, enjoyed very much.
