KATO

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
This little boy hiding behind the colourful threads of his motherís loom is called Kato. He lives in the village of Darahoa not far from Da Lat in the Central Highlands. His mother is a weaver and makes beautiful ďtho camĒ (ethnic fabric).
As I was photographing his Mum I noticed him hiding from me but also very curious about what I was doing. I hope youíll agree with me that it makes a very interesting and unusual image.

F6.3 1/30th sec zoom at 40mm ISO1600 (which explains the noise) natural indoor light no flash

Tomorrow the upload will be mainly about his Mumís work.

Thank you for the comments of my recent uploads. Itís so nice to make you discover something new.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine,

Jean-NoŽl

V1 is delightful, I love the way you've caught his eyes and nose perfectly between the threads, but very little other facial detail.
V3 is a gem!

At 1/30 sec and ISO 1600 this picture still looks sharp! I really love the composition, colors of the threads and the look of the boy wearing his colorful cap. The colors of the thread, boy's cap and background are really in harmony.
One small thing that could have made the picture more perfect: if only I could see more of the boy's right eye ("left eye" for the viewer). His right eye looks kinda strange now... But if moving to the left a bit (seeing more of the boy's right eye) we would probably see less of his nose! The thread are making it very complicated! Haha, anyway: well done!
