TU HIEU PAGODA

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
The Tu Hieu Pagoda is in Duong Xuan Thuong III hamlet, in Thuy Xuan village, 5km southwest of Hue.

I was lucky to have found a great guide* who drove me there on his motorbike. I arrived on time to witness the daily ritual with the chanting of the monks. I enjoyed the ceremony and the great rythmns produced by the monks and their bells and a large drum.

At the end of the ceremony, my guide took me to the garden so I could see the novice monk who was offering tea to Buddha in a courtyard filled with beautiful flowers. It lasted a few seconds but was a most moving moment of this visit.

*Mr Hoa, the guide, can be found at Hung Vuong Inn, 20 Hung Vuong in Hue. He speaks English and French. He can help you organise your stay and visits in Hue. Hes very nice and knowledgeable.

Beautiful, calm, gentle. I particularly like V1, for composition. At present the image almost merges with the background on the right, I'm not sure whether it would work better with a thin frame or not. The effect is certainly interesting.
