VIETNAM 2013 #118

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
Hon Chong peninsula is in the southwest of Vietnam, not far from the border with Cambodia. The area is well known for its extensive stretches of sand, coconut palms, casuarinas and crystal-clear water.

There is a great restaurant by the beach. You choose your fish which is still swimming in a large bowl, oblivious of your presence and chat with the cook on how it's going to be prepared. While you're relaxing with a beer in a hammock overlooking the beach, the kitchen is busy preparing you a delicious meal. It costs very little and you're still dreaming about it months later!

It sounds idyllic but not far from there, are some horrible cement factories spitting smoke and large lorries going like crazy along the road.

Sounds perfect for a relaxing time - we'll block out the cement factories.
