VIETNAM 2013 #151

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
Trām Chim National Park covers an area of 75.88 kmē. There are several rare birds to be seen there. The Sarus Crane is one of them but they are far away so you can only see them with powerful binoculars.

Another problem is the boat’s motor making such a racket that all the birds fly away before you get to them. You see plenty of birds in flight. Also the boat goes fast so you just grab shots.

Nevertheless it’s an interesting and beautiful place to visit.

V.2 is the winner for me, Jean-Noel, it's a shame the 'driver' can't slow down now and again to give photographers a bit of a chance Smile Carol

The "pilot" stops the boat when you want to but the noise has already scared the birds so it's too late. There are hides and towers you can go to but you need a very powerful lens as the birds are far away.

The noise from past military encounters, may have started an inbred avoidance to the wildlife
No doubt over the ensuing years, things will return to normal

I am guessing that you were on a long tail? I love the perspective, and particularly the imagery, of V2.
