VIETNAM 2013 #165

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
Bao Loc is a town in the Central Highlands, about just over 80 miles (130 km) North of Ho Chi Minh City. It is in the Lam Dong Province well known for its tea since the 1930s.

“B’Lao” is another name for this region. When the French were in Indochina they did some positive things as well as some terrible ones. Luckily the Vietnamese remember them for their positive achievements like choosing this area for tea plantations. The soil and environment proved to be suitable for tea .

From this region come some famous tea brands: Tram Anh, Tam Chau, Rong Vang, and Ngoc Trang.

I had no idea tea was grown in Vietnam. Thank you Jean-Noel for informing me and for this beautifully toned image.

Delightful picture. There is a certain quality about it. The sepia is very effective. Smile
