VIETNAM 2013 #24

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
The Khmer Krom are indigenous Khmer people in southern Vietnam. They are ethnic Khmer who inhabit Kampuchea Krom, an area in southern Vietnam that was once part of the Khmer Empire.

More than one million Khmer Krom are living in Vietnam today.

One of my objectives for this trip to the Mekong Delta was to visit some of the many pagodas and meet some monks who follow Theravada ("the Teaching of the Elders"), the oldest surviving branch of Buddhism. Vam Ray pagoda was my first stop.

These are quite strong images, the colours, the shadows and the clarity............. The write up is very interesting, something else I didn't know.
