Eynesford Poppies

By derekhansen
I took this at the end of July 2012 whilst on a poppy hunt close to home. I had hoped to find a large field full but that didnt materialize. I did find these on the edge of a wheat field by a public footpath and as the sun set behind them I decided to do some back lit close ups.
Actually the most memorable part of this shoot was that all the time I was taking photos, there were 2 dogs in the farmers yard behind barking continuously at me. Talk about working under pressure.

An excellent image Derek - I especially like the way the backlighting has picked out the hairs on the stems.

Fabulous detail on these beautiful poppies Derek. I know it's been done before too, but each time I see a poppy image it fills me with delight! Love it!

The back lighting is beautiful Derek! I've always wanted to take an image like this, just never found the poppies at the right time!

Lovely backlit opportunity well spotted and executed! It's almost abstract and I guess that feel could be enhanced by shooting/cropping so the wavy stems travel the full height of the frame (although maybe that just makes it feel more chaotic!).

This popped out at me in your PF - super light capture - I just love rim light when done right, and this is. Such well handled exposure.
