Thanks to all for comments - A little bit of info on the system:

The SB-R200 system consists of a commander unit to mount on the hotshoe and two separate flash units (additional units can be added to create 3 groups of 3 flashes each). The strength of each flash group can be determined independently by the commanding unit which activate them wirelesly.

In this case the unit was located at the 2 o'clock position on the mounting ring on the front of the lens. The other unit I held in my left hand at the 7.30 o'clock position to lit the moth from underneath and lightly from the left. The left hand unit was fired at full strength (main) and the mounted on at 1/6th strength as a fill on the flower ( all regulated through the commander unit on the hotshoe). Regards.

This is excellent as so many others in your portfolio Rosie. Great standard throughout!

Thank you for the genorous comments on my work. I am honoured. The one thing that prohibits from joining as an e-member is the cost. Thats the one drawback of living in South Africa. Our currency is currently weaker than the Pound by a factor of more than eleven. Membershop would cost me in the region of SA-R335.00. (I am a paid member of Usefilm.com where a larger variety of my work is currently uploaded. you can register for free, search for Joggie and view my photos at a 850x850 resolution). Kind regards.

Hi Belgikskenikske, yes this is real. I did the minimum enhancement in terms of brightness and contrast and cropped it slightly for the sake of the composition. The magnification ratio is about 3 x lifesize (tiny dewdrops). Kind regards.

Thanks Mike - the colours are close to natural - increased the saturation by about 8%, increased brightness and contrast slightly. Regards

  • Orchids by Cliffair

Great composition, excellent light and level of detail. The only thing I would like is too see the stem to anchor the flowers in a way. The green in the frame appears a bit strong and competes with the subject - a more neutral colour would work better in this case. Great work!
