Sometimes we here in South Africa are blessed with the most incredible light to take photos by, except when it is blazingly sharp ! This was taken in a Stellenbosch vineyard at about 19:30.

Fabulous comp and great lead-in. We're looking for some clouds here in Central TX - bright bright sky and intense light - very hard to photograph in.

I like what you are going for, but think you could probably do a bit more work to the image to really get the best from it. The sky is blown out and the image a little washed out... I would probably try and make 3 versions of this, one optimised for the sky, one the mountains and the third the foreground. Don't worry about what is going on to the other bits in each version, just get the best from each zone, then combine the three in PS or whatever you choose to use - brush away the areas you aren't interested in for each version and you could end up with a really nice image overall.
