From having a solitary Robin Erithacus rubecula, calling in now and again, the current cold spell has brought four in to The Coppice
feed stationSmile
Went up with the sole intention of assembling the new perch platform, but after an hour's toil, I was as warm as toast, so thought I would try it out.

Silly me had made it to high, but I stuck with it, until I couldn't feel my fingers and toes.Sad
The basic principle of it worked a treatGrin
After I had packed up for the day, I altered it, so at least it is now ready for the next session, which maybe early pm tomorrow
A clay shoot in the adjacent field in the morning and Dan's football is off anyway.

All the better for being in the snow, Adrian Wink. Wind dropped a bit, sunny spells, may have reached 15C mid-day. Carol

Beautiful sharp crisp shot with very good detail in feathers. The sharpness of the eye and the 'whiskers' on the 'chin' certainly draw the eye into the subject.Very well done.

Outstanding details and colours. Seems so appropriate, a Robin in the snow but guess it's as toughfor them as any other wee bird at the moment.

Lovely portrait Adrian! Had about 12 of these around me today whilst out doing some heathland restoration. They were finding food in the disturbed leaf litter beneath the snow. I suppose some of them at least were migrant birds. Great to see so many together though!
