Scarborough from the top of the hillGreat detail. The horizon needs adjusting. John

Shaft of Light

Shaft of LightLovely pose and lighting. My only critique would be to make the whole of the bg black except for the shaft of light as I find it a bit distracting. John

Coastal sunset

Coastal sunsetI think you have done very well. Lovely scene. Like the sea spray coming off the water. My only critique would be to try and get a bit more lighting into the fg. This can be achieved by taking two photos, one for the fg which is lighter and one for the bg and then merge them. John

SuilvenLovely detail and scene. My only critique would be to have the bottom of the tree truck in the fg included. John

Summoning Light

Summoning LightHi Anpix. This photo has a lot of potential but unfortunately (at least on my screen it looks too dark). What I think you may have done is metered the light coming off the sun. This has caused the darker areas to be under exposed. You can do a number of things:
1. Meter for the dark areas and take an average for the bright areas and see what happens.

2. Take your shot before the sun actually comes out fully (this may be difficult if this was an 'impulse' shot.

3. Take a shot metered for the sun and another shot metered for the dark areas. Then combine both shots and paint in the two relevant areas.

4. If you have photomatix use this.

Trust this of help.

All the best. John
