Sorry to be so critical but that's how we learn. It seems that this is a stage lighting but there are some faults in this picture, the white lighting on one hand is so powerful than the rest even the fingers are not pleasent how they are and the backround is dominating and distructing the viewer. but nice try

Didnt see the other version so can't comment there - this is a picture with a quality that is hard to define - you like it or you don't - I do! The over-exposed high-lights and shadowy crossings add to the immediacy of the image, as does the composition. I'm surprised in one way this got an EC as not all such inventive or risk-taking shots are recognised, but it is deserved nevertheless. I particularly like the way the shadow on the wall echos the woman so well and a strange almost awkward stance completes the shot.
