Hi John

I think you executed this well enough but I think there's a bit much space over the head. It's pin sharp but I get the feeling that she's just a bit too smug.

I don't pretend to be a great portrait photographer but wanted to let you know how it struck me. i like some of your other stuff.

Its a nice shot John, - youve done well with the home set up.

I would suggest cropping some space off the top as mentioed above, - it will provide a better aspect ratio for printing.

The colour has a slightly yellow tone, - perhaps white balance needed to be calibrated, - but its easily handled in post processing.

Ive cropped it in the mod, and Ive applied a curves adjustment to correct the colour, and sharpened very slightly.

I like the pose personally, - good work.

Hi John,

Great image for a home studio shot!

I agree with the comments above about the space above the model, and to a degree about the yellowish tint to the skin tone although I could probably live with it for personal consumption. However, as the latest versions of PS (and I imagine other products) have specific controls for correcting skin tone that allow the required degree of subtle adjustments, it should be simple to fix.

For me a more distracting issue is the pairs of catch light in each eye, an effect which isn't normally found in nature, but can easily be corrected.

Thanks for the comments, the yellowish tint comes from a gold reflector (will use the white side next time) and I am using paint pro.
