Stand Tall

By JohnParminter
Thought it time for an upright.

I'm deliberately not giving name titles to these recent ones of Glen Coe as most folk will probably recognise the location instantly from the thumbnails.

Will probably give this area a rest for a while as the Lakes meet is coming up, although the weather is not forecast too good and I'll have to decide if I'm coming out to play. Smile

Thanks for looking

If you use your imagination a wee bit you can see that I tried to match the symetery between the foreground and reflection..that was the intention anyway.

I'm not a landscape 'expert' but for me, this has all the elements that go to make a striking image and most importantly for me, an image I would be delighted to see mounted as a print on my wall.

Strong composition and a nice range of tones and colours.

It would also be a strong commercial image as the format suits a magazine page and even has enough space for a banner Smile

Just needs an empty coke bottle or an artfully discarded crisp packet for added foreground interest ......

Seriously though, this is a very good looking image and I can only echo what Barrie has already said.

Stunning again John, love the colours and there's so much interest in the shot. The light too is superb. Well done. helen

Cheers guys and thanks for the encouragement..but actually I'm a bit disappointed I didn't take more care over the composition. It niggles me a bit that I didn't place the reflection slightly more to the right and that I didn't look a wee bit more down Glen Etive way, you may not appreciate what I'm saying as I was there and have a reference to guage.
I'm happy with the colours etc though..Smile

Often the problem in these sitautions is that you take a step to the right to fix one thing and introduce another problem elsewhere.

If this was mine, I'd have packed it, booked and gone home.

Blinking eck, I only went out to sit in my car and listen to the radio over lunch..
Thanks a lot folks and Keith for the HC, if that was you who did the awarding. It still bugs me to look at it though, may have to look at the other couple of uprights I've got and see it it alleviates my distress..Smile
