FramedI like what you've seen here. IMHO cropping off the brickwork on the left gives a more graphic result that looks stronger.

more pool rescues!Carol, you consistently produce stunning macro shots that amaze me in their variety. If you don't miind me saying so, I think sometimes they would benefit from a bit more Photoshop sharpening. This particular set is quite soft, not unpleasant in itself as a technique, but for preference I would have crisped them up a bit with Unsharp Mask.

Leica 1934-Test sceneThat's got huge potential as an image, but as it stands I think it does show the inherent problem with older wide aperture lenses - lack of contrast due to internal reflections. So IMHO the options might be to go for soft colour or if sticking to black and white to extend development by 20% and print on a much harder grade of paper. If scanned, the contrast needs to be upped a fair bit.

It's definitely worth trying these things out, so I hope that you find these comments helpful.
