  • Down to the Beach

I like this a lot. In my imagination, I can see it as a prehistoric coastal scene, complete with swooping pterodactyl.

  • Diagonals

I know where this is, and it looks really interesting but is very difficult as a photographic subject. The cable does kill it, so that needs to be cloned out I think. There may be a good abstract where the two angled and one vertical line meet in the lower half of the image. I see a square composition around that point, cropping out any sky.

You've prompted me to have another go myself next time I'm in this area, as I've so far discarded every attempt I've made.

Thanks guys, I've corrected the title. I'm still not very good at identifying these things.

  • The Appreciation of Art

It is staggering sometimes when we see the actual size of some paintings. We've all seen them in books, and they quote the size very often, but there's nothing quite like coming face to face with the real thing.

  • Dark Female Mallard

I suppose it must be a female Mallard, it just looks darker because I've used back lighting.

  • Trending 1960s Style

PS The EXIF is not accurate, it relates to the digital copy I made on a Pentax MX-1. The original shot was on a Konica Auto S2 rangefinder camera.

  • OK Punk, Make My Day......

The swans are well fed and very used to being crowded by people. However, this youngster was being pulled away and I caught the moment just a split second before he was. Others were not being reined in and some were getting perilously close. Wild animals are exactly that - wild and unpredictable.
