One of the places I frequent is the Lancashire Mining Museum, formerly known as Astley Green Colliery Museum. In recent years I have used it extensively for lens reviews, for two reasons. It is local and it is a very varied outdoor site that offers huge potential for different sorts of photography. However, it does also change and develop and probably is becoming less useful for my purposes as it strives to tidy up and become fit for purpose as a more attractive museum. They need footfall to justify their existence, especially as the iron headgear needs extensive and expensive renovation after years of neglect.
I mention it now, because even the detail changes, as shown in this set of two pictures. The first is November 2005 and the second is January 2018. It seems though that no matter what else might change, my composition for this particular shot is pretty clear in my mind.
