A Bit of a Good Egg

Still life can be fun and looking for images to fit a theme can help to stimulate the creative parts that other styles of photography cannot reach. So set the theme, then start to think about how to make various images around that theme. Collect together the props, set the scene up, sort out the lighting and finally, the quickest part of the process, shoot the images. Then onwards to Photoshop if required.

So today the theme is Eggs. These pictures are what I put together, why not have a go as well. It doesn't have to be "Eggs" but it could be.

When anyone asks me how they can generate some inspiration into their photography I often say find a project. The photography can be part of the project and because it then has a purpose it makes it so much easier to start to think about the image makeing. Eggs are a small beginning, and very tasty too.

No eggs were hurt in the making of this blog entry.

Historic Tyldesley - Frank's Cafe and More!

Historic Tyldesley - The Technical College

There is a road sign that says "Welcome to Historic Tyldesley" or something similar, and for a while we scratched our heads wondering what excatly was historic about Tyldesley. Well, slap on the hand for us, because there are plenty of things that w...

Buile Hill Greenhouse - Progress Report

We were down at Buile Hill Park in Salford today, just to see how the mansion and the Greenhouse were getting along. The mansion is under restoration at the moment, but the greenhouse was set to be demolished. This was such a wonderful place, with bi...

Always Carry a Camera

I make a point of always carrying a camera, just to capture anything and everything that catches my eye as we carry on with the minutiae of life. I was in Atherton and just heading for the shop that sells fuses and passed a small alleyway that used t...
