The weather forecast was grim, but we packed the picnic, packed the wheelchair for my mum, packed two grandchildren and packed ourselves off to Martin Mere. We were ready for the rain, armoured in our waterproof coats, and armed with out weatherproof cameras. I had the Pentax K-3 II plus 18-135mm, 55-300mm and 1.4x AW teleconverter lenses secured in my Billingham Alice bag. Alice used to travel everywhere with me until she became too small, but she's still ideal for fast access and travelling light. One observation I have is that the teleconverter did not like focusing with the zoom lenses, so in future that will be reserved for primes. When it did focus the quality was fine, but the AF was definitely iffy when the light levels fell.
In the event, the expected foul weather didn't arrive and we had a very warm and pleasant day, with the sun even showing itself from time to time. Hot off the press, here's some pictures.
