Just a few hours ago, we dusted off the cameras, found the rainproof jackets, fired up the car and away Sue and I went for a practice photoshoot with Charlotte and Lissy, along with NeilWigan and his wife Joan. It was great to be able to get out and about and we headed down to damhouse in Astley. Not far perhaps, but it was quiet, easy to socially distance and the whole area is a great backdrop. The girls were enthusiastic and everybody had a good time, so now the ice is broken we can get out more from now on and finally shoot some pictures.
The Pentax K-1 is weather resistant, as is the 28-105mm zoom lens, so this was a good choice for a fairly damp, blustery and very variable day. As usual, the sun came out as evening approached, but using ISO1600 was not a problem and there was very little sign of noise. I decided to shoot some in-camera black and white, for obvious reasons, and I have to say I'm very pleased with the tonality produced by the Pentax cameras, be it the K-1 or the Q-S1.
Here's some sample shots.
