We went yesterday to this annual event, and what a splendid day it was. Great weather, lots of stalls, demonstrations, displays and plenty to entertain the offspring and offsprings' offsping as well. It was handy that we've just replaced our car with a 7 seater and all 7 seats were in full use, with fierce competition amongst the smaller ones about who would be travelling "in the boot". A second car carried numbers 8 and 9, including Beth, who is now a whisker away from 16 years old and just squeezed in to being free for this event. We have season tickets, so a very reduced price for entry provided that we order in advance, including the option to visit on either day as we choose. In any event, booking online is advantageous for everyone. One thing that was rather interesting is that a band stand was erected in the normally private garden area, so a new view of the chapel and side of the hall was available for the first time.
With so many in our party it was a case of travelling light, photographically speaking, so Billingham's Alice bag was filled with a Pentax K-3 II and SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm WR lens. I slipped in a fast SMC Pentax-FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited lens as well, plus some spare batteries and cards. I didn't need the second lens. So here's a selection of images from yesterday, and the fun continues today but we're thinking of a barbie instead this afternoon!
