We went to the Lytham St Annes 1940s weekend event, which was a great opportunity to shoot some images for the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 lens review. The 24mm let's us get right there into the event, which is a different feel than using a telephoto lens and standing back. Events like this are very much street photography, but with keen and willing subjects. Plus a whole variety of interesting themed items to see and photograph, this time the 1940s military kit, vehicles and styles as well as the general 1940s fashions. It would have been great to buy perhaps a WWII flying jacket, although these days I'm warm enough without the sheepskin! So we confined ourselves to looking and shooting (photographically speaking of course) and here's a selection of images from the day.
