Breaking Free in Astley

Coronavirus may or may not be in retreat, but, with due diligence regarding cross infection, ADAPS hired Astley Green Colliery Museum last evening for a photo shoot. It's a huge site and it swallowed up those who attended with no problems socially distancing. Our three models were also part of one family bubble, so it all became viable and extremely valuable in finding again the will to be outdoors and involved in some new photography.

The rain held off and we managed some interesting shots, but then we had some interesting models, and that always helps. So thank you to Charlotte, Lissy and Joan and to NeilWigan for bringing them along!

This is what I processed in the early hours of this morning.

Next week's ADAPS Zoom meeting those who shot pictures will be showing them, so this is a sneak preview for everyone. Except that I might show some different ones to what I have shown here.......In any event, the evening was a great success.

Round and Round the Harbour

Perhaps no trip to Cardiff would be complete without a gentle tour of the harbour by boat. Starting close to the shrine lamenting the death of Ianto Jones, the character from Torchwood, the open air boat took us on a clockwise journey, and this is wh...

Cardiff, Centre of the Universe

Still on the theme of Doctor Who, Cardiff looks very much like it is indeed the centre of the universe. Temporal Rifts, Torchwood, Aliens of every description, these are to be seen on the streets of Cardiff. In 2017 Me, Sue, her late brother Mark and...

So, we meet again, Doc-tor....

There I am, an unsuspecting 12-year-old, waiting for a new Saturday evening serial about an old man who travels in time. Twenty-five minutes later, there I am totally wowed by the most exciting bit of new TV I had ever seen. Yes, the first episode of...

The Amazing Dalbeattie Museum Trust

This is a small but packed museum in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It covers a couple of floors in a corner shop location and is packed with artefacts, the bad news for us being that many of them are things that we have owned or used as youngste...

Golden Slumbers

There's an exhibitions of Egypt's Golden Mummies at Manchester Museum, and we went down to see it this afternoon. I travelled very light this time, in the end using just the Pentax MX-1 compact camera. The conditions were very dark and the exhibits l...
