The photographer can be a fickle thing, always restless, always looking for something new. Always upgrading, which I suppose in one way is good as it keep innovation going and cameras and accessories moving off the suppliers' shelves. But sometimes I think I have been guilty of being just a bit too quick to move something on, and the Pentax X90 might be a case in point. A 12MP Bridge camera released around 2010, the X90 sported a good quality lens with a "35mm equivalent" range of 26-676mm. At the wide end it was a fast f/2.8. I only used it for a very short time, and I have no idea why. Looking back at the few images I did shoot, they were sharp and had excellent colour. There wasn't really much not to like. I wonder what other item caught my fickle imagination and made me move the X90 on.
Here's a look at some X90 images, and I think they hold their own pretty well, despite the compact camera sized sensor.
