Fancy Dancers - Back to the 1940s!

23 Mar 2021 3:26PM   Views : 483 Unique : 340

I am not a dancer, not by any means, so it's best left to those who are. Here we have a group of Ladies and Gentlemen, all dressed up in their 1940s finery, tripping the light fantastic at Elvington in May 2019. Elvington is of course the home of the Yorkshire Air Museum and I'm now flexing my Satnav-listening skills (used to be map reading skills) in anticipation of being able to revisit places like this.

So, cue the music and let the dancers dance!

Cardiff, Centre of the Universe

Still on the theme of Doctor Who, Cardiff looks very much like it is indeed the centre of the universe. Temporal Rifts, Torchwood, Aliens of every description, these are to be seen on the streets of Cardiff. In 2017 Me, Sue, her late brother Mark and...

So, we meet again, Doc-tor....

There I am, an unsuspecting 12-year-old, waiting for a new Saturday evening serial about an old man who travels in time. Twenty-five minutes later, there I am totally wowed by the most exciting bit of new TV I had ever seen. Yes, the first episode of...

The Amazing Dalbeattie Museum Trust

This is a small but packed museum in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It covers a couple of floors in a corner shop location and is packed with artefacts, the bad news for us being that many of them are things that we have owned or used as youngste...

Golden Slumbers

There's an exhibitions of Egypt's Golden Mummies at Manchester Museum, and we went down to see it this afternoon. I travelled very light this time, in the end using just the Pentax MX-1 compact camera. The conditions were very dark and the exhibits l...
