The SMC Pentax-DA 10-17mm Fisheye Zoom sat securely on my K-5 and Manchester beckoned, warm and welcoming in the fine spring weather. This was the first foray with the new lens and the journey took me from the Royal Exchange, through to Barton Arcade, St Ann's Square, St Ann's Church and on to the John Rylands Library. At the library I had an early lunch as after I returned home I had meetings scheduled, so no chance to eat then.
The lens is easy to use, focuses snappily and isn't particularly prone to flare. It is compact, but quite heavy for its size, perhaps indicating there is a lot of glass in there. As for performance, I'm happy so far, but it is useful to reduce exposure by -0.7 to -1 EV to avoid burnt out areas.

One important thing is to get in close wherever possible, otherwise things will look very far away and insignificant. I can see that I will have uses for this lens.
